Do you want to know what score you would likely get in the SAT
essay section? Or find out which specific areas you need to improve when writing
under pressure? May be you are looking for a specialized practice resource to
complement your test preparation?
Even though SAT essay readers will grade your essay as a first draft with the scoring guide,
the first impression is the last impression. No students should just walk in to
the test and believe that their usual writing habits can help them ace this
portion of the test.
Here at Essay-Practice, new simulated SAT essay prompts are constantly
introduced for students to download and practice.
These original essay topics cover various areas of disciplines. They are meant
to equip the students with critical thinking skills that will guide them to
write confidently and convincingly, even on an unfamiliar subject during the
test. Our customized review services, Essay-Review
and Track-My-Progress,
correct students' mistakes on the conventions of standard
written English, identify the
students' improvement areas, and
recommend practical help that the students can implement.
Learning from the reviewer's critique notes, our students practice constantly
with a focused objective. Practice makes perfect, Essay-Practice has helped many
students attain their highest possible score in
the SAT essay section, which accounts for almost 30% of their writing score.
Who will review my essay?
Your reviewer has training on scoring essays in standardized
tests, holds a Master degree, constantly works with students in the writing
area. Most importantly, your reviewer has your interest in mind - scoring the
"6" the first time, so you don't have to come back.
How
will my essay assignments be scored?
Click on Essay-Review
or sample
for an idea. The review is very personalized, and the comments are not
standardized "one-size-fits-all" or software generated.
Will
I have the same reviewer for all my essay assignments so there is some
continuity?
Yes, even though the Track-My-Progress service specifically track the
students' performance and provide progress reports, we believe that any students
working with the regular Essay-Review
will also benefit from continuity- having someone who understands their
writing styles from previous work.
Who
are the students that have been using your services?
Mostly high school juniors or seniors, public and
home-schooled, across the country, as well as test tutoring services. These students rely on us as their dedicated
resource to prepare for the SAT essay, they enjoy our flexible, responsive and
challenging programs. We give our students personal attention when it comes to
their work. Interestingly however, we also have a large pool of non-SAT writers
who use our service as an enrichment program. Due to the increasing demand, we
have now introduced the Youth Writers service (see link on side bar).
I have
already enrolled in a SAT review course, would I benefit from Essay-Practice?
Absolutely!! Many of our students engage in review courses;
yet they realize that given the limited time and the vast material to cover,
review courses usually only provide general guidelines and a couple of
practices, which do not drill down to the students' core problem areas, nor
coach them to a higher level.
What
should my tactics be to get my highest possible score?
- Be familiar with
the SAT
essay
section.
- Accustomed to writing with an
essay writing strategy that will keep you
on track during the test.
- Practice writing essays and get relevant, detailed
feedback.
